From Felicity to Star Trek! J.J. Abrams delivers yet again!

Star Trek was AWESOME. AWESOME!!!!

Three things I want you to know about me,

1. I hate Star Trek. When I was younger Star Trek was the most boring show in the world and it would always be on UPN Ch.13. Also, people often would reference Star Trek to explain Sci-Fi to me, and for that reason, Sci-Fri was my least favorite genre for the longest time.

2. I love J.J. Abrams. Everything he makes turns to gold. Felicity, Alias, and Lost. He knows how to keep me hooked on TV like crack! Felicity made me want to be 30, when I was 16. Alias had me wanting to join the CIA and live a double life. Lost just makes me want to actually get lost on an island so I can test my survival skills, mentally and physically.

3. I love all movies so my review of Star Trek is extremely biased and uncritical.

Three things I want you to know about Star Trek:

1. Newsweek's reviewed Star Trek as "Supercool" which pretty much sums up what I think of the movie. The action/CGI/computer graphics are excellent. I don't remember there being any cheese-ball gliches.

2. There's action but also plenty of comic relief as all good movies do. Simon Pegg and John Cho are brilliant as minor characters. I almost laughed out loud when Winona Ryder came on the screen. She's so random! Winona Ryder get out of here! Stay in the 90s!

3. Spock's character is sexy. Stoic sexy. Nothing like Sylar from Heroes. He is a completely different character in this movie. Watch and you will understand what I mean.

I got to watch a free screening in leather seats thanks to my brother Jacob Shin.
I will definitely watch it again though.
